Mechanical Estimator

Role Overview:
We are working with a well-regarded HVAC subcontractor in New York City that specializes in delivering complex mechanical solutions for both commercial and residential projects. As their project pipeline continues to expand, they are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator with 3+ years of experience to join their growing team. Your main duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Develop comprehensive and accurate HVAC cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Evaluate mechanical plans to determine scope, labor, material requirements, and timelines.
• Request and assess subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure competitiveness and scope compliance.
• Coordinate closely with project managers and engineers to ensure smooth transitions from estimating to project execution.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, conduct site visits, and support value engineering efforts.
• Leverage historical cost data to support accurate budgeting and continuous improvement of estimating procedures.
• Maintain clear and organized records of estimates, proposals, and supporting documents.

To be successful in your application, you will possess the following:

• At least 3 years of mechanical estimating experience, ideally within an HVAC subcontracting environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, installation methods, and materials in both residential and commercial construction.
• Ability to accurately interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office tools.
• High level of detail orientation, time management, and analytical thinking.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
