Estimator (NYC / Masonry & Restoration Contractor)

Role Overview
A specialist masonry and restoration contractor is seeking an Estimator to join its office-based team in New York City.

Reporting directly to the President, you will prepare complete estimates for commercial masonry and restoration projects, taking responsibility from initial document review and quantity take-offs through pricing and final submission.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial masonry and restoration projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and bid documents to identify scope, requirements and potential gaps.
• Complete quantity take-offs and price labour, materials, equipment and subcontracted work.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Assess access, site logistics, sequencing and existing conditions when developing estimates.
• Document assumptions, exclusions and clarifications to support complete and accurate bids.
• Coordinate with the President on pricing, bid reviews and final submissions.
• Maintain estimating records and communicate scope and pricing to the project team during handover.
• Manage bid deadlines and multiple estimating assignments.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of relevant construction estimating experience.
• Experience estimating commercial masonry and restoration work.
• Ability to prepare full estimates independently, from take-off through submission.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, masonry methods and restoration scopes.
• Good knowledge of labour, material and equipment pricing.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Able to work from the company’s NYC office.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $110,000–$130,000, depending on experience.
