Role Overview
We are recruiting an Estimator for a well-established union mechanical contractor delivering large-scale HVAC projects throughout New York City. This individual will play a key role in winning, bidding, and pricing complex work, including corporate interiors, mission-critical spaces, and commercial mechanical upgrades.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented estimator with strong takeoff skills and hands-on knowledge of union mechanical trades.

Your main duties will include:

• Preparing detailed estimates for HVAC scopes including piping, ductwork, equipment, and controls.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and addendums to identify risks and scope gaps.
• Conducting material and labor takeoffs using union labor rates.
• Soliciting and leveling subcontractor proposals.
• Supporting value-engineering efforts and bid strategies.
• Providing turnover documentation to project management teams after award.

To be successful, you will possess:

• 5+ years of HVAC estimating experience, ideally with union contractors.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and installation methods.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and produce accurate takeoffs.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
