Estimator

Role Overview:
We are partnering with a respected HVAC subcontractor based in New York City, known for delivering complex mechanical systems across commercial and residential developments. With a growing portfolio of high-profile projects, our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator with 3+ years of industry experience to join their dynamic team. Your main duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for HVAC systems based on drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
• Analyze mechanical plans and project requirements to assess labor, material, and time needs.
• Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring competitive and compliant bids.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure seamless handoffs and scope alignment during pre-construction.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and value engineering exercises.
• Track historical data for cost analysis and contribute to ongoing improvements in estimating processes.
• Maintain organized documentation of bids, estimates, and proposals.

To be successful in your application, you will possess the following:

• A minimum of 3 years of mechanical estimating experience, preferably within HVAC-focused subcontracting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and installation practices in both commercial and residential contexts.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and technical documents.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
