Role Overview
We are currently supporting a well-established mid-sized General Contractor in New York City seeking both a Junior Estimator and a Senior Estimator to join their preconstruction team.

This contractor delivers a wide range of commercial, residential, and interior construction projects across the NYC metropolitan area. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s estimating and preconstruction efforts, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and leadership to develop competitive bids and accurate cost projections.

The position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across Manhattan and the wider boroughs while contributing to a growing and collaborative construction team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience reviewing drawings, performing quantity take-offs, and coordinating with subcontractors within the NYC construction market.

Your main duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects during the preconstruction and bidding phases.
• Reviewing project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to understand scope and project requirements.
• Performing quantity take-offs and preparing detailed cost breakdowns for project bids.
• Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier pricing to develop competitive estimates.
• Identifying scope gaps, cost risks, and value engineering opportunities during the estimating process.
• Assisting with bid preparation and submission of competitive tender packages.
• Collaborating with project management teams to ensure cost estimates align with project budgets and schedules.
• Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers within the NYC construction market.

To be successful in your application, you will possess the following:

Junior Estimator

• 2–5 years of estimating or preconstruction experience within a General Contractor or Construction Management firm.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and quantity take-offs.
• Experience supporting bid preparation and subcontractor pricing.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Senior Estimator

• 7+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor or Construction Management firm.
• Proven experience leading full bid processes and managing tender submissions.
• Strong knowledge of NYC subcontractor pricing and construction costs.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and mentor junior team members.

What We Offer:
Junior Estimator Salary: $110K
Senior Estimator Salary: $150K
