Role Overview We are supporting a growing NYC-based mechanical contractor seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to help oversee and develop the company’s electrical division.

This is a key field leadership role and will suit someone who is confident managing electrical work on active construction projects, coordinating manpower, overseeing day-to-day site activity, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

The successful candidate will work closely with the company’s Senior Project Manager and wider operations team, helping to manage electrical crews, coordinate with other trades, review drawings, track progress, and support the successful delivery of projects across New York City.

This position would suit an Electrical Foreman who is comfortable taking ownership in the field and is looking for a long-term opportunity with a busy mechanical contractor. Candidates must be comfortable working in a non-union environment and should not be seeking a union position.

Your main duties will include, but not be limited to:
  • Oversee day-to-day electrical field operations across active construction projects.
  • Supervise electrical crews, assign daily tasks, and ensure work is completed in line with project requirements.
  • Work closely with the Senior Project Manager to coordinate manpower, materials, schedules, and project priorities.
  • Review drawings, specifications, layouts, and project documentation to ensure accurate field execution.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades on site.
  • Monitor work progress, identify issues early, and communicate updates clearly to management.
  • Ensure electrical installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Support material ordering, delivery coordination, and tracking of required equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with layout, field measurements, inspections, punch list items, and closeout activities.
  • Maintain a strong site presence and ensure crews remain productive, organized, and aligned with project schedules.
  • Help troubleshoot field issues and support practical solutions to keep work moving.
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with company safety procedures and site requirements.
  • Provide regular updates to the Senior Project Manager regarding manpower, progress, delays, risks, and upcoming needs.
  • Help build structure, accountability, and consistency within the electrical division as the business continues to grow.
To be successful in your application, you will possess the following:
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Foreman, Lead Electrician, or senior field electrical professional.
  • Strong background working on commercial, mechanical, or general construction projects.
  • Ability to supervise crews and manage day-to-day electrical field activity.
  • Strong understanding of electrical drawings, layouts, specifications, codes, and field installation practices.
  • Experience coordinating with project managers, superintendents, other trades, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to plan manpower, track progress, and communicate project needs clearly.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve field issues efficiently.
  • Good understanding of safety requirements and quality control standards.
  • Comfortable working in a non-union contractor environment.
  • Must not be seeking a union role.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take ownership, lead from the front, and support the growth of an electrical division.
  • NYC construction experience would be highly beneficial.
