Role Overview:
Our client is a well-established civil contractor with a strong track record in excavation, utilities, and wastewater infrastructure projects across New England. With a robust pipeline of work and a collaborative team environment, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a major infrastructure project in Middlesex, Vermont.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a respected regional contractor, balancing on-site project leadership with office-based planning and coordination.

Your main duties will include, but not be limited to:
  • Managing the full lifecycle of civil projects, including excavation, wastewater, and underground utilities
  • Overseeing field operations and office coordination (3–4 days on-site in Middlesex, 1–2 days in the office)
  • Controlling project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, procurement, and change orders
  • Serving as the primary liaison for clients, engineers, and local authorities
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and construction standards
  • Conducting site visits to track progress, resolve challenges, and maintain quality
  • Preparing reports, documentation, and project updates through closeout
To be successful in your application, you will possess the following:
  • 10+ years of project management experience in civil construction, ideally in excavation and wastewater
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and coordinate field operations effectively
  • Familiarity with Vermont/Northern New England permitting and environmental requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar)
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel regularly to the Middlesex site
