Assistant Superintendent (Commercial Interiors / GC)

Role Overview
ProSource Group is recruiting an Assistant Superintendent for a general contractor delivering major commercial construction projects in New York City.

Fully site-based and primarily working in Manhattan, you will report to a Senior Superintendent and support the delivery of commercial fit-out packages valued at approximately $10m–$20m within wider projects exceeding $100m.

This opportunity suits someone with 1–3 years of relevant construction field experience who wants to develop their site-management skills on substantial projects. Commercial interiors experience is beneficial, although candidates with transferable field experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Superintendent with daily site operations and subcontractor coordination.
• Assist with trade sequencing, short-term planning and monitoring progress against the schedule.
• Review drawings and help identify field issues requiring clarification.
• Coordinate deliveries, materials and jobsite logistics.
• Support site safety, quality inspections and accurate daily reporting.
• Assist with punch lists, corrective work and project closeout.
• Communicate site updates and outstanding issues to the project team.

Requirements

• Targeting 1–3 years of relevant construction field experience.
• Practical exposure to site coordination and working with subcontractors.
• Ability to read construction drawings and communicate clearly with field teams.
• Strong organization, attention to detail and a proactive approach.
• Available to work fully on site in NYC, primarily Manhattan.
• Commercial interiors or fit-out experience is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $90,000–$110,000, depending on experience.
