Assistant Project Manager (Westchester, NY / Commercial Carpentry)

Role Overview
ProSource Group is recruiting an Assistant Project Manager for the commercial carpentry division of a general contractor delivering projects across Westchester County.

Combining project-management support with Superintendent duties, this position offers a mix of office coordination and hands-on field involvement. You will support several ground-up projects averaging approximately $15m in overall construction value, reporting to a Project Manager and Senior Project Manager.

The role suits a construction professional with at least 3–4 years of relevant experience who enjoys working closely with field teams while keeping project documentation, procurement and schedules moving. Commercial, healthcare and union carpentry experience would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, drawing updates and project records.
• Support procurement, purchase orders and timely material deliveries.
• Assist with project schedules, look-ahead planning and manpower coordination.
• Coordinate carpentry activities with foremen, field teams and other trades.
• Review drawings and details, identifying discrepancies and raising queries.
• Monitor site progress, workmanship and outstanding issues.
• Support site safety, daily reporting and communication between office and field teams.
• Assist with change-order documentation, cost tracking and closeout.
• Coordinate punch-list work and completion of outstanding items across several projects.

Requirements

• At least 3–4 years of relevant construction experience.
• Experience supporting project delivery and coordinating field activities.
• Ability to read construction drawings and maintain organized project documentation.
• Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable splitting time between the office and Westchester project sites.
• Commercial or healthcare project experience is beneficial.
• Union carpentry experience is beneficial rather than mandatory.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $125,000, depending on experience.
