Senior VAT Manager (indirect tax)

We’re currently recruiting a Senior Indirect Tax Manager for a leading organisation in the construction sector company based in Kildare. 

This is a key position within the tax function, responsible for managing Irish and UK VAT compliance and advisory matters. You’ll take the lead in developing VAT reporting systems, controls, and processes, while providing practical advice on complex VAT issues and cross-border transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and review of Irish and UK VAT, RCT, Intrastat, and other indirect tax returns.
• Enhance VAT compliance processes and ensure reporting meets both local and international tax standards.
• Work closely with business units to build robust data management and control systems for indirect tax.
• Provide clear, commercially focused VAT advice on transactions and projects across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead indirect tax communications with Revenue and HMRC, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, treasury, and operations teams to ensure consistent tax practices across the organisation.
• Monitor and advise on legislative developments affecting indirect tax, ensuring internal stakeholders are kept informed.
• Support tax transformation initiatives and contribute to wider group tax projects and strategy.

Your Qualifications/Skills & Experiences:

• ACA or CTA (or equivalent) qualification.
• Strong technical expertise in Irish and UK VAT; RCT experience an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset.
• Proven ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax stakeholders.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to see the bigger picture.
