My client is seeking a Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant to join a growing team in Waterford.  This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or newly qualified professional to advance their career in a supportive environment. You will work with a diverse client base across various industries, providing high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services.

Key responsibilities
  1. Working in a cross functional team environment to assist with the accounting function of various clients in the portfolio;
  2. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and trust
  3. Maintenance of trial balances and subledgers ledgers of entities in a portfolio and periodic reconciliations of same; 
  4. Processing and supporting transactional level client information, including setting up bank payments for authorization, processing, filing, and uploading of client related documents such as invoices;
  5. Utilisation of accounting packages (including MS Navision, One Source and Sage) as well as MS Excel for maintenance of client accounting records;
  6. Ensuring accuracy of automated/manual data input from client systems to accounting system and tracking and documenting support for same;
  7. Assisting the preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting;
  8. Assisting the preparation of statutory accounts for clients and maintaining supporting details for these;
  9. Provide audit support as needed for clients

The candidate
  1. Ability to work independently and also as part of fast paced dynamic team, adhering to tight deadlines;
  2. Must be self-starter, have the ability to multitask and have excellent attention to detail;
  3. Strong sense of responsibility for assigned tasks and the drive to complete them to a high standard.
  4. Proficient in essential IT tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with accounting packages is a plus but not essential
  
Work Experience:

  1. Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in an Irish practice.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Deep understanding of accounting policies and industry standards.
  4. Team player, capable of working independently and taking initiative.
  5. Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  6. Proficient in using Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  7. Familiarity with cloud accounting software is a plus.
