Planning Engineer

Our client, a leading utilities and civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Planning Engineer to support the delivery of civils, drainage, and utilities (water & electricity) projects in Dublin. This role is ideal for a Project Engineer or Civil Engineer with experience in planning and scheduling, looking to transition into a specialist planning role within a dynamic organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, update, and manage project schedules for civil and utility projects.
• Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure accurate planning and forecasting.
• Monitor project progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Assist in resource planning, ensuring labour, materials, and equipment are allocated effectively.
• Use planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to track and report project timelines.
• Support the preparation of progress reports and programme updates for senior management and clients.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company procedures, and client requirements.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience in civils, drainage, or utilities (water & electricity) projects.
• Previous experience in planning and scheduling, either as a Project Engineer or Civil Engineer.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, or other planning software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyse project performance data.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with site and management teams.
• Full, clean driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites when required.
