Mechanical Engineering Contractor is seeking a
Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in
Tipperary. The company delivers a range of high-quality
mechanical installation projects across the industrial, commercial, and pharmaceutical sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious QS with 1–3 years of experience to gain hands-on exposure in a supportive environment and develop their career within a reputable and growing mechanical contractor.
Responsibilities - Assist with cost planning, budgeting, and tender preparation for mechanical projects.
- Support the commercial team in preparing bills of quantities, take-offs, and cost reports.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and compile comparisons.
- Monitor project progress, variations, and valuations under supervision of senior staff.
- Assist in preparing monthly valuations, progress claims, and final accounts.
- Support the project team with procurement and contract administration.
- Participate in value engineering exercises and cost control measures.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with company procedures.
Requirements - Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years’ post-graduate experience, ideally within a mechanical or M&E contracting environment.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software tools.
- Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning and development.
- Full Irish Driving Licence
- Team-oriented, with a genuine interest in progressing within the M&E sector.
Package - Salary: €40,000 – €50,000 DOE.
