About the Company
ProSource's client is a leading Structural Steel Subcontractor based in Roscommon, specialising in the design, fabrication, and installation of structural steel solutions for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. With a reputation for delivering high-quality steelwork on time and within budget, they are seeking a skilled Steel Estimator to join their team and play a key role in securing and pricing new projects.
  
Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and quotations for structural steel projects.
• Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to assess material and labour requirements.
• Liaising with clients, engineers, and project managers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Sourcing and negotiating pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost efficiencies.
• Identifying potential risks and opportunities in tender submissions.
• Preparing take-offs and bills of quantities for steel structures.
• Collaborating with the design and fabrication teams to ensure estimates align with project feasibility.
• Keeping up to date with market trends, material costs, and industry regulations.
• Managing and maintaining estimation records for ongoing and completed tenders.
• Supporting contract negotiations and assisting with post-tender pricing queries.

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an estimating role, preferably within the structural steel sector.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, erection processes, and material costs.
• Proficiency in estimation software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
• A proactive and detail-oriented approach, ensuring accuracy in cost estimates.
