Our Longford client is an Accountancy practice, and they are seeking an experienced
Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing bookkeeping, payroll, and general accounting support to a broad range of clients across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare and process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, including posting invoices, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and year-end files for accountants.
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain required information.
- Support the team with ad hoc accounting and administrative duties as required.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll within an accountancy practice or similar professional environment (essential).
- Solid working knowledge of Sage, BrightPay, Thesaurus, QuickBooks, and Xero (experience across multiple systems is a strong advantage).
- Strong understanding of Irish VAT, PAYE, and payroll legislation.
- Exceptional attention to detail with excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to confidently manage multiple clients, workflows, and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive client relationships.
